Get into a good skin routine suited to your skin type as soon as possible. Sarah Blair from Awaken Wellness in Coleraine is amazing at Dermalogica facials and knows skin like the back of her hand, she will be your skins best friend!
Facial hair removal/tinting/lash treatments are very personal. I do, however, recommend a lash tint and natural brow tint for fair clients and any stray brow hairs removed. Lash lifts and extensions are great but must be trialled before the wedding to find the right style for you. Please note that facial hair removal and tinting should preferably be done a week before your wedding to allow skin to settle. If anyone has had a lash lift, they won’t be able to have false lashes applied as they won’t sit seamlessly along the lash line.
If you are thinking about false tan, give this a few goes beforehand. I believe less is more when it comes to false tan. Megan from The Little Beauty Room in Coleraine is an expert in spray tanning.
I allow one hour per person plus an extra 1-1.5 hours extra to allow for touching up and getting dressed. I will always arrive 10-15 minutes early to allow for setting up.
Not necessarily but I prefer the bride to go somewhere in the middle of the group. Usually, it works well for the bride to get her hair done first, then make up, then hair touch ups/finished after. It is also a good idea that anyone with particularly oily skin gets make up done towards the end of the group.
I will need some waist high surface space or a table and either a bar stool or a chair with a few cushions for height. Somewhere bright with natural light is preferred. I find it best to keep the hair and make up stations away from busy areas like the kitchen to keep the morning running smoothly.
Before you leave, I will do touch ups, but you may find you need to top up your lipstick and apply a little powder if you get hot throughout the day. I will provide a small touch up kit with items such as a sample of your lipstick, oil blotting paper and a few cotton buds.
